‘The Snow Queen’ and ‘The Emporer’s New Clothes’ come to the stage of Puppetworks

Puppetworks presents its fall premier of two of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic stories, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 16, with special performances on Oct. 8 and Nov. 12.

“The Snow Queen” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” will be performed together, adapted for the Marionette stage by Puppetworks’ Nicolas Coppola, artistic director.

“The Snow Queen” tells the story of a mysterious lady who throws ice into the heart of a child, making him cold and mean, and of his friend Gerda who sets out to rescue him from the Snow Queen’s Ice Palace.

“The Emperor’s New Clothes” is the tale of a foolish emperor who buys invisible clothes from a clever tailor, only to march down the street in his underwear.

“The Snow Queen,” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” Saturday and Sunday, through Dec. 16, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. Special performances on Monday, Oct. 8 and Monday, Nov. 12. Tickets are $10 for children, $11 for adults, and $9 per person for groups of 20 or more. Reservations are strongly suggested. Suggested for children 3 years and older.
