Don’t just dream of the sugar plum fairies, come and see them in a production of Excerpts from the Nutcracker performed by the children of Cobble Hill Ballet, at Kumble Theater at Long Island University on Dec. 16 and 17.

Young ballerinas of the Cobble Hill Ballet perform excerpts from the “Party scene” to the magical “Land of the Snow.” Clara’s journey to “Candy Land” is a colorful mix of dancers, including The Sugar Plum Fairy, Russian Dolls and Waltz of the Flowers. This shortened version of the original ballet is perfect for children and families.

Excerpts from the Nutcracker, Dec. 16 and Dec. 17; noon, 3 pm and 5 pm; tickets are $22 ($10 children under 12)
