It’s fun being green

The greenest festival returns to New York for a fun weekend on April 16 and 17 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, just in time to celebrate Earth Day.

Dozens of experts and presenters providing materials on how you can live a better greener life will be on hand at this annual event hosted by Green Festival. Loads of children’s activities include an interactive sustainability learning game, a visit from Growums Captain Eggplant teaching gardening tips to kids, members of Dr. Oz’s Health Corps providing lessons on sugary drinks, and the Swim Strong Foundation hosting water activities.

On Sunday, from 4:30 to 5 pm on the main stage, fashion designer Tara Johnson will be sharing her amazing organic pieces from My Boo and You.

Green Festival Expo on April 16 and 17 from 10 am to 5 pm. Tickets are $10 for one day per person and $19 for a weekend pass.

Activities are related to the lyrics, in order to familiarize the children with the words and their meanings. Some of the songs encourage the children to dance.
