Give peace a hand at the Concert for Global Peace on Sept. 27 at Carnegie Hall.
Actor and producer Danny Glover hosts, and conductor Luis Gomez leads the International Philharmonic Orchestra and a group of 100 young musicians from 74 countries around the world in this once-in-a-lifetime performance. The program includes F. Mendelssohn’s “Violin Concerto E Minor Op.64” featuring soloist Alexander Markov and Faruk Kanca’s “Turken Foundation Symphonic Suite of Voices of the World” featuring traditional instruments from around the world.
The participating young musicians will perform on the same day their countries are represented at the United Nations during the General Assembly meetings.
