Hans Christian Andersen comes to the stage at Puppetworks

Two classic tales are on stage at PuppetWorks now through Dec. 21 with special performances on Columbus Day and Veterans Day.

Both tales by Hans Christian Andersen are a perfect fit for children 3 years and older.

Adapted for the marionette stage by director Nicolas Coppola, “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is the story of a vain emperor who buys a set of invisible clothes only to march down the street in his underwear. “The Snow Queen,” (the source story for Disney’s “Frozen”) is the story of a mysterious lady who throws ice into the heart of a boy so that he becomes cold and mean. The story is accompanied by Norwegian Folk Songs.

Performances are on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 21 at 12:30 and 2:30 pm with special performances on Oct. 13 and Nov. 11. Tickets are $ 8 for children, $9 for adults and $7 for groups of 20 or more.

Polaris Productions Theater Camp

<p>Kids will learn, rehearse, and perform the wonderful Maurice Sendak and Carole King musical, Really Rosie. For 10 weekdays, campers will take part in physical and vocal warm-ups and learn choreography, staging, and vocal parts. They&rsquo;ll develop skills in acting, singing, character development, and more. This camp will ignite your child&rsquo;s imagination and passion for performing, build their self-esteem, and help them form lasting friendships. They&rsquo;ll have fun!
