Introduce a new generation to a beloved and classic fairytale — and be prepared to have some phantastic fun yourself — when City Parks Foundation presents “Hansel and Gretel’s Halloween Adventure” at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park, beginning on Oct. 1.
The holiday-themed show is inspired by the adventures of the brother-and-sister duo, and picks up where the original Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre production leaves off — with the pair’s pet swan Samantha flying the children back to their humble home after their wild escapade in the forest.
Recommended for children ages 3 to 9.
“Hansel and Gretel’s Halloween Adventure” from Oct. 1 to Nov. 2. Tuesdays through Fridays at 10:30 am and noon. Wednesdays at 2:30 pm; and weekends at 1 pm. Additional shows on Oct. 31 at 2:30 pm and 4 pm. $7 for children under 12, $10 all others.
