Kids Saturday Underground Railroad paper quilting workshop at Socrates Sculpture Park

Learn all about the Underground Railroad and have fun with crafts at Socrates Sculpture Park on June 17.

The topic at this Kids Saturday workshop is Road to Freedom: Paper Quilting workshop. This art-based workshop focuses on the Underground Railroad, including secret messages that were encoded through patchwork quilts to help guide slaves to freedom. Students will create paper quilts using authentic symbols and messages. Appropriate for kids in grades kindergarten through sixth.
