Leading ladies: Ballet Hispanico presents three pieces from women choreographers at Joyce Theater

Ballet Hispanico opens its 2017 season with a production of “Con Brazos Abiertos,” “Linea Recta,” and “3. Catorce Dieciseis” at the Joyce Theater from April 18 to 23.

The nation’s premier Latino dance organization brings its bold brand of contemporary dance to the Joyce Theater with a program of all-female choreographers.

Works include the world premiere of Michelle Manzanales’s “Con Brazos Abiertos,” “Línea Recta” by Belgian-Colombian Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and “3. Catorce Dieciséis” by Tania Pérez-Salas. For older teens and college students.

Ballet Hispanico from April 18 to 23, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm; Saturdays, 2 pm and 8 pm; and Sundays, 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $10.

Campers will stretch their skills with drama exercises and games, vocal coaching, field trips, and building a professional set. Our incredible teaching artists and campers come together to put on a truly remarkable show!</p> <p>During the school year, classes are great for beginners or more experienced actors - sing, dance, and put on a play! Whether your child is just starting out, or ready for Broadway, we&rsquo;ve got the class for them. Classes are available for grades PreK-8, after school or on Saturdays!
