Philosophy for kids: Young philosophers talk with Simon Critchley at Brooklyn Public Library

Children can discuss philosophical issues in Philosophy for Kids with Simon Critchley on March 19 at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central branch.

Philosophy for Kids is led by scholar and New York Times columnist Simon Critchley and his students offering a series of discussions where children talk about worldly issues.

The event celebrates kids’ unabashed curiosity, and engages them in deep conversations about subjects ranging from friendships to society, and other key themes in philosophy. No parents allowed! For children 5 to 12 years old.

The event is part of the cultural services of the French Embassy and French Institute Alliance Française’s second annual TILT Kids Festival.

The festival features a wide range of new works for families by celebrated French and international artists.

Philosophy for Kids, March 19, 2 to 2:30 pm for children 6 to 8 years old; 3 to 3:30 pm for children 8 to 10; and 4 to 4:30 pm for children 10 to 12. Free.

Young Actors at Strasberg

<p>Young Actors at Strasberg offers a comprehensive array of acting programs for students in grades 2 – 12. Classes provide kids and teens with a foundation in Lee Strasberg's Method Acting and the tools to succeed in the professional industry – all while maintaining a fun and playful environment. Programs are tailored to encompass students at all levels, from those just beginning their acting journey to Broadway veterans and professional child actors. Young Actors at Strasberg alumni include Lady Gaga, Sophia Lillis, Angelina Jolie, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Rosario Dawson!</p> <p>Young Actors Programs are available online and in-person at our New York Campus, located in Union Square.
