Grand Procession highlights anniversary

Green-Wood and the Brooklyn Historical Society will commemorate the ending of the Civil War on May 23.

Musicians start the festivities with melodies popular in the day and gear up for the Cavalry to lead the Grand Procession past the candle-lit markers of Civil War veterans. There will be cookout demonstrations and re-enactment soldiers sharing historical stories and information about the war.

The 150th anniversary of the Civil War at Green-wood on May 23 from 6 pm to midnight

Tickets are $25; $20 for members.
