Wizards, warriors, and kings

The Mettawee River Theatre Company presents “Taliesin” at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on Sept. 6, 7, and 8, and again on Sept. 13, 14, and 15.

Traditionally presented during the days that bridge summer and fall, “Taliesin” is a medieval Welsh tale of sorceresses, kings, and valiant heroes. Directed by Ralph Lee, “Taliesin” tells the tale of sorcery and court intrigue, in which the power of inspiration is accidentally bestowed on an unlikely kid, who can suddenly see beyond everyday reality, becoming Taliesin, or radiant brow. This production incorporates puppetry, giant figures, masks, and other works of art.

Sept. 6, 7, and 8; and 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children and seniors.
